The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team competed in the Winside Wrestling Invitational on January 5th. The Ainsworth Girls placed 10th out of 18 teams.

Coming off the Holiday Moratorium Break, the Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team traveled to Winnebago on December 29th to compete against wrestlers from Nebraska and South Dakota. Ainsworth varsity tied with Valentine and Weeping Water with 22 team points.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs were at Summerland Public Schools for the 2023 Holiday Tournament and came away as winners of the Round Robin Tournament by defeating West Holt, 53-35, on December 29th and defeating Summerland, 58-55, on December 30th.

The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs had two wins at the Holiday Tournament to take top honors and increasing their record to 6-3 on the season. In the first game on December 29th the Lady Bulldogs came out on top against West Holt by a score of 51-43.

Anglers need to be aware of fishing regulation changes in Nebraska that take effect January 1, 2024. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s changes to 2024 fishing rules are: Archery Paddlefish – Archery paddlefish permit holders may harvest paddlefish in the spillway below Gavins Point Dam.

The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs scored the most points they’ve had all season to find success on Tuesday, December 19th. The Lady Bulldogs blew past the Burwell Lady Longhorns, 64-37, at home.

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) surveillance conducted in central and north-central Nebraska during the November firearm deer season detected 31 positive cases in deer. 603 samples were collected from harvested deer at check stations in the Sandhills, Keya Paha, Calamus East, Calamus West and Loup West Deer Management Units.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs picked up their sixth win of the season on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Appelt out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. The Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the Burwell Longhorns on December 19th and handed the Longhorns a 72-39 defeat.

The Ainsworth Boys Wrestling Team was among 16 teams that competed in the Valentine Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday, December 15th and 16th. Boys Team Scores: 1.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team placed seventh out of 13 teams at the Valentine Invitational Wrestling Tournament held on Friday and Saturday, December 15th and 16th. With only five wrestlers, Ainsworth brought home four medals from the tournament.
