FFA Blood Drive Draws Donors Despite Cold Temps, Illnesses
Even though temperatures dipped into the single digits and many people were home with flulike symptoms, the Ainsworth FFA chapter reported a good turnout for their February 5th blood drive.
The FFA holds several blood drives a year, and had around 40 appointments for this one.
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. But for the past four years, new Red Cross donors have declined by about 80,000 each year. This is not just a Red Cross trend, but a challenge blood collection organizations face across the country and around the world.
