Lady Gorillas come up short in both contests this past week against Lyman and Winner
On Thursday, Jan. 9, Gregory hosted the Lyman Raiders. The Lady Gorillas took a slight lead after the first quarter, 15 to 12, but the second quarter proved to be the difference in the game, in favor of the Raiders.
Lyman out-scored Gregory 24 to 6 in the second quarter and went into halftime leading 36 to 21. Gregory managed to cut into the lead and was only down seven going into the fourth quarter and got the lead down to six, but could not get any closer. Lyman won the game by a score of 52 to 42.
The Lady Gorillas were led by Jessy Jo VanDerWerff with 10 points. Brooklynn Kenzy added 9 points. As a team, the Lady Gorillas shot 11 of 44 from the 2-point range for a total of 25% and 3 of 13 on 3-point shots for 23%. From the free throw line, the team shot 11 of 16 for 68%.
