“Celebrities” to take the stage at Dixon Townhall Theatre
Once again celebrities will grace the stage of the Dixon Townhall Theatre. Billy Currington, Paul Harvey, Rodney Dangerfield, and Wynonna Judd are just a few of the acts that will be performing at Gregory’s Impersonation Contest Saturday, March 2, 2018.
To accommodate expected large audiences, two performances are scheduled, one at 3:00 p.m. and the second at 7:00 p.m.
Steve Swanson, who won over the crowd last year with his rendition of Ray Charles, will again contribute his musical talent, performing “If I Was a Real Cowboy” with Marv Braun as the Smothers Brothers.
This year, instead of a panel of judges, audience members will receive ballots and will be responsible for choosing the winners.
With a talent-packed line-up of twelve acts, Swanson will have plenty of competition vying for the top prizes. Last year’s second place winner, Don Soper, will return to the stage as Mac Davis to sing “It’s Hard to Be Humble,” and several new local celebrities have thrown their hat in the ring to serve up an aggressive challenge for the audiences’ votes.
