Gorillas return to Domemaking

The Gorillas will play for a state championship for the second time in three years after defeating Stanley County 44-7 Saturday evening.

In front of a possible record setting crowd at Mike Dacy Field, the Gorillas played one of their better games of a great season. Gregory scored the lone touchdown of the first quarter on a 5 yard run by Jayd VanDerWerff. Stanley County responded in the second quarter with a 24 yard touchdown pass to tight end Cutter Gillaspie to cut the score to 8-7. VanDerWerff scored on a 34 yard touchdown run and caught a nice touchdown pass from McCance with 16 seconds remaining in the first half as the Gorillas took a 22-7 lead into the locker room.
