Planning and zoning issues draw crowd to commissioners’ meeting

The Gregory County Board of Commissioners met at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2018 in the Gregory County Courthouse.

Landslides are major concern regarding proposed development

Several concerned landowners were in attendance to express concern about a 40-acre piece of land near the Missouri River that Dave Kotab plans to develop into 15 lots for residential use. The primary concerns had to do with potential landslides that would cause damage to existing developed properties and to the road.

Adjoining property owner Dan Olson submitted excerpts of the geotechnical exploration report that was done on his property prior to constructing his home. He concluded that the report indicates the probability of a slide if the proposed road below his house is constructed the way Vanderpol Construction plans to build it.
