Brown County Sheriff’s Office Makes Eight Arrests During Holiday Crackdown

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office, through funding by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, participated in the national “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” crackdown December 14th - January 1st.

The campaign is a national program to increase public awareness and make our roadways safer. On average, there is one alcohol impaired driving-related fatality every 52 minutes across America, killing almost 10,000 people each year.

Research has shown that highvisibility enforcement, like the “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” campaign, reduces alcohol-impaired driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent. That is why law enforcement across the state of Nebraska and nationwide joined in an effort to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on our roadways during the holiday weekend.
