Continuing 2018 Year in Review - April

April

Since Easter fell on April Fool’s Day this year, Mother Nature decided to play a trick on the area and bring snow and cold weather for most of the weekend. The Ainsworth American Legion and Auxiliary’s Easter egg hunt was moved indoors because of Saturday’s cold weather, while participants at other area egg hunts bundled up in winter clothes.

Lance Philben, assistant manager of the Ainsworth Irrigation District, has been accepted into Class VIII of the Nebraska Water Leaders Academy. The Academy is a one-year program that provides leadership training and educates participants about the vital role that rivers, streams and aquifers play in the economic sustainability of the state.

The American Legion Post #79 selected Benjamin Arens, Tate Fernau, Treyvin Schlueter and Sam Wilkins of Ainsworth as participants for the 2018 American Legion Cornhusker Boys State Program.
