Long Pine City Council Approves Gary Hutcheson Memorial in City Park

Long Pine City Council met in regular session on Thursday evening, January 7th. Councilmembers Linda Alberts, Dave Cheatum, Kathy Papstein and Andrea Collatos were present.

Citizen Input

During citizen input, discussion was brought up in regards to an individual asking how residents who live within the one mile jurisdiction from the City of Long Pine could vote on Long Pine elections for City Council, Mayor and other issues.

The City of Long Pine has jurisdiction on TransAg Zone (short for Transitional Agricultural Zone) properties that fall within one mile of the Long Pine City limits. These residents must request permission from the City of Long Pine to get building permits on their properties. Those residents are questioning why they can’t vote if they have to have approval from the council for building permits.
