Long Pine City Council Tables Criteria on Waivers for Minimum Maintenance Fee

Long Pine City Council - Linda Alberts, Aaron Miller and Kathy Papstein (Teresa LeMunyan absent), listened to options by the council and general public on criteria for waivers for charging the “$30.00 Minimum Infrastructure Maintenance Fee” at their regular monthly meeting on January 3rd.

It was explained that the fee is going into a pool of money that will be earmarked for updating and maintaining the water and sewer lines.

In an analysis that the Nebraska Rural Water Association did for the City of Long Pine, the report indicated that they have an aging water tower and most lines are the original lines. The City is currently paying off a 30 year loan on some of the newer water lines. This loan will be paid off in seven years.
