BID forges ahead during pandemic
The Gregory Business and Industrial Development Group (BID) remained very active during the second quarter of 2020 in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. They held their first in-person board of directors meeting in June after the pandemic necessitated a months-long hiatus. This meeting helped the board reengage, take stock of their situation, and hone their focus on the future.
At that meeting they were able to recognize and express appreciation to three long-time board members who retired at the beginning of the year. Elmer Karl, Vince Berens, and Dr. Jerry Fogel were commended for their service to the community.
During the first quarter of 2020, the group submitted an application to the United States Department of Agriculture for a matching grant to supplement the revolving loan fund. They were informed in June that their application had been approved. The total amount of the application, $100,000, will soon be available for interested local businesses to apply for loans.
