Gregory County’s COVID-19 numbers remain at “substantial” level

South Dakota has recorded the nation’s third-highest rate of coronavirus cases per capita over the last two weeks, an alarming development health officials attributed to summer gatherings, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and students returning to college campuses and school classrooms.

The state has now has a total of more than 15,000 cases of COVID-19, 2892 of which were still active on Monday.
