Gregory Foundation asks residents to invest in community
The Gregory Community Foundation is asking area residents for their help by investing in the community. This help can be done by donating a forthcoming Rosebud Electric Cooperative Capital Credit check to the Foundation. Checks will be mailed in early September and can be assigned to the Foundation by presenting them to either bank in Gregory. Donations will kick off a $50,000 fund raising effort by the Gregory Community Foundation.
A total of $15,000 in grants will be available each year to fund community projects after the Foundation goal is reached. The Foundation has over $300,000 in assets. Only investment gains are used for grants, so the principal amount remains constant. Additional investment money is needed to meet the increased demands of the community projects. Because the principal investment is never spent, the Foundation will keep on giving year after year. Since 1995 the Foundation has given grants of $199,948 to community projects.
