Memorial stone erected at park to honor the man whose name the city and county bear
The stone for the John Shaw Gregory memorial was recently erected at the Gregory City Park. The memorial has been a long time in the making, the idea having been conceived around the time of Gregory’s centennial in 2004.
The memorial is located north of the flag pole at the ball park. Many local residents have worked to make this idea come to fruition, with the Gregory Community Foundation and the Sunshine Garden Club funding the project. A Gregory flag is erected at the site in his honor.
