Mrs. Anderson to try new approach for after-school program grant

The regular meeting of the Gregory School District Board of Education was held at 5:30 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2020, in the conference room at the school.

The meeting agenda was amended to include approving the audit for the 2018-19 school year.

Samantha Timanus delivers good news

Samantha Timanus, a junior at Gregory High School, attended the meeting to present the “Gorilla Good News” that she will be attending the state American Legion Oratorical contest. To qualify, she had to participate in the local contest, at which she had prepared an eight-to-ten minute speech about some aspect of the constitution and research four amendments to the constitution chosen by the American Legion. Being the only contestant in Gregory, she won and moved on to the next level, which was held on Sunday, January 12, in Pierre. She had to memorize her speech, and this time had to go up against two other girls. Earning first place again, she will now compete at state on February 23.
