Pheasant season opens this weekend
Orange will be the new black around the state this weekend as hunters don their gear for opening weekend of pheasant hunting, beginning at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17.
COVID-19 hasn’t impacted the pheasant population in the state, and what hunting enthusiast could think of a better way to social distance than going out into the wide open spaces of South Dakota for the world’s greatest pheasant hunting.
The weather forecast for the Gregory area is for a beautiful 59 degrees under partly cloudy skies on Saturday with winds out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Although temperatures will take a nose dive into the low 40’s on Sunday, hunters won’t have snow or mud to contend with.
