Six seniors answer call to serve the country
This year’s senior class at Gregory High School has six members who have answered the call to serve their country in the armed services. Four have chosen the Air National Guard, and two the Marines.
Evan Juracek explained that he has long been interested in the military. Although his grandfather served in the army, Evan has chosen to enlist in the Air National Guard. He explored both the Army National Guard and Air National Guard before deciding that the Air National Guard has better benefits. That fact and convincing three of his friends to join him, made the decision easier.
Juracek enjoys working on pickups during his spare time, and will put that skill to use in the military working on jet engines. Because his basic training won’t begin until August, he won’t be able to start college next year. He is still undecided anyway, trying to choose between attending Mitchell Technical Institute to study auto technology or directing his attention to law school to become a Judge Advocate General (JAG).
