Civil Air Patrol Pilot Flight Clinic held in Valentine
A group of ten pilots met at Miller Field in Valentine August 15, 2020. All the pilots were doing some form of training to improve their skills, qualify or renew qualifications that are required for flying a Civil Air Patrol plane. Due to COVID-19 requirements from Nation Headquarters, masks were required.
Sandhills Composite Squadron sponsored the event and created the scenarios the pilots trained on. Most of the pilots were from eastern Nebraska and a few had never been to the Sandhills. Search and Rescue flying is a bit different in the wideopen spaces of Western Nebraska.
