Troy and Kerry Dodd Participate in the Bataan Memorial Death March

On March 19, 2023, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, hosted 5,500 marchers for the 34th annual Battan Memorial Death March. The march is to honor the heroic service members who, despite illness and short supplies of food and ammunition, defended the Philippine Islands during WWII. These service members were surrendered to the Japanese military and ultimately forced into the war atrocity known as the Bataan Death March. The course is 26.2 mile living memorial test we forget the unwavering courage and tremendous sacrifices made in defense of our freedom.

Brown County Residents Hear About Consumption Tax Proposal

Mark Bonkiewicz of Millard, NE and Steve Jansen of Norfolk, NE were in Ainsworth on Wednesday, March 22nd to speak about the proposed Consumption Tax for Nebraska. About 25 people attended the meeting at Big John’s Restaurant in Ainsworth.

Additional E&L Baseball Sign Up Set for Thursday, April 6th

Baseball and softball have been a summer recreation program for Ainsworth area youth ages 5 through 18 since the 1950’s. From “T-Ball” to “Machine Pitch / Coach Pitch”, Little League, Pony League, Junior’s and Senior’s (formerly Midgets and Legion), along with Girls Softball, there have been activities at East City Park from the end of May into July.

Four More Years, Proposal Would Add One More Term to Limits Just one more term. Yes, lawmakers are once again considering giving themselves 12 years instead of eight to figure out how things work and try to do something for their constituents.

“TALK SAVES LIVES” Last week Thursday, I attended the community meeting on “TALK SAVES LIVES” dealing with suicide. I must say one learned a lot in the short time we listened to Donna Wolff, who has experienced suicide first hand with her child.
