Brown County American Legion Auxiliary

The Ainsworth American Legion Auxiliary met for its regular monthly meeting on January 24th. The meeting was opened according to ritual after being called to order by President Marilyn at 7:30 p.m.

Ainsworth’s Beef in School Program Accepting Donations

Ainsworth Community Schools temporarily paused its Beef in School program due to the pandemic and changes/challenges with securing kitchen staff; however, they are ready to bring locally raised ground beef back into the ACS lunch program.

McAndrew Elementary’s January Students of the Month

Each month, McAndrew Elementary selects a Student of the Month from each class. This month’s students are Emmy Johnson, Cecilia Kerrigan, Jett Hansmeyer, Barrett Alberts and Emilyn Goochey.

AHS Freshmen Learn CPR

Ainsworth school nurses Leanne Maxwell and Lori Clapper are teaching CPR to 23 freshmen. The freshmen are divided into three groups to learn CPR, and their teacher subsequently had a refresher course.

Ainsworth FFA Recently Sponsored Annual Community Blood Drive

Ainsworth Community Schools FFA Chapter recently sponsored a Blood Drive with Red Cross. The FFA members called people to get them set up for an appointment to donate blood on Tuesday, February 7th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church Fellowship Hall in Ainsworth.

Brown County Commissioners Approve Road Closure, Audit Company and Other Items

The Brown County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 5:15 p.m., in the Brown County Courthouse Meeting Room with members Chairman Buddy Small, Dennis Bauer and Jeremiah Dailey present. Also present were Brown County Clerk (BCC) Travis Hobbs, Brown County Attorney Andy Taylor and Brown County Highway Superintendent Kenneth Turpin.
