Jacob Harvey Joins University of Nebraska Barta Brothers Ranch

The University of Nebraska Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) is pleased to announce that Jacob Harvey has been named Research Project Coordinator for the Barta Brothers Ranch located south of Long Pine. Harvey began this new role on January 3, 2023.

“Easy Come, Easy Go” The “Golfing Grannies” - Ann Hoch, Wendy Wilkins, Jennifer Martin and myself, took off for Chandler, Arizona to get some golfing in and enjoy the sun. Although the temperatures at this time in Arizona weren’t exactly the warmth we thought we would be greeted with, it didn’t keep us from having fun.

Legislative Notes

This week I introduced two bills in the Natural Resources Committee. They both deal with “renewable” energy and the duties and responsibilities of our public power utilities. I’ve introduced bills that deal with this subject every session I’ve been in the legislature. The vast majority of my constituents in the 43rd District do not want to see Nebraska covered in wind and solar farms, and neither do I.

Just What is the State of the State? The State of the State on its 156th birthday. It’s still a very red, heavily conservative and largely Republican mecca situated in one of those mostly square states out west that a lot of people couldn’t find on an unmarked map.
