December 11 - 17, 2022 Sunday, December 11th Provided assistance to a Nebraska State Patrol trooper on a traffic stop on 4th Street in Ainsworth. A Nebraska driver was issued a citation.

Ainsworth’s 61st Annual Community Christmas Pageant

Around the world, Christmas is a time for family and community traditions. Residents of the “Christmas City of the Sandhills” in Ainsworth are especially proud of their own unique tradition - a live re-enactment of the birth of the Christ child in Bethlehem. For 61 years, members of the Ainsworth Women’s Club have presented the story of Christ’s life in an annual Christmas Pageant free to members of the community.

1,000 Shoe Box Goal Achieved for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child

The Ainsworth Free Church has been coordinating a year-round project to fill 1,000 shoeboxes this season. Due to the generous support of many, the goal has been reached with 1,023 shoeboxes packed and sent from Ainsworth Nebraska to children around the world in over 100 countries.

5th Graders Share Their Thoughts on What Santa Does in His Spare Time

When Santa has spare time, I think he celebrates what he has made and what he has done. He probably celebrates with the elves and Mrs. Claus to make it more fun. Instead of staying at the North Pole to celebrate, Santa might go on a vacation, or go somewhere else because they are so used to being at the North Pole. Maybe he’ll have some hot chocolate and cookies or he’ll make snow angels and have snowball fights. I think Santa probably has fun no matter what he does and no matter where he is. That is what I think Santa does in his free time!
