As Halloween Creeps Closer, NFPA Urges Public to Keep Fire Safety in Mind

Halloween is a boo-tiful time of year, full of spooky celebrations and activities, but it also presents some real and scary fire safety hazards. As the holiday nears, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is encouraging everyone to take simple precautions that can help ensure the holiday remains festively fun.

Late Jerry Allen Honored for 65 Years as Lions Club Member

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Ainsworth Lions Club was held, Monday, October 17th, at 5:00 at Canyon Creek. Lion President Dale Hafer opened the meeting with the Pledge, followed by Lion Rita Paddock who gave the prayer. Thirteen members and one guest were present.

Beau Bechle and Kelsey Wood Announce Engagement

Gene and Rhonda Buechle of Johnstown, NE are proud to announce the upcoming marriage of their youngest son Beau Buechle to Kelsey Wood, daughter of Shaun and Lisa Spangler of Arthur, NE and the late Tab Wood of Imperial, NE Their ceremony will take place at a rural setting near Johnstown on October 29th, 2022 in the presence of family and friends.

Brown County Hospital Board Hold Regular Monthly Meeting

A regular meeting of the Brown County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees was held Monday, October 17, 2022. Present were Chairman Brent Deibler, Tate Schipporeit and John Gross. Excused was Brian Delimont and Jim Walz. Also attending were Mirya Hallock - CEO, Tad Stearns - CFO, Lisa Fischer - HR and Tawny Allen - Recording Secretary.

Ainsworth Pink Ladies Dart League Gives Back $100,000.00 to Help Others

Ainsworth Pink Ladies Dart League was organized in October 2012. Over the years, they have been able to have, on the average, 40-45 dart league players during the fall and summer leagues. Two years ago, the summer league was opened up to a coed league.

Ainsworth Residents Now Allowed to Raise Chickens Within City Limits

The Ainsworth City Council held the third reading of the ordinance allowing Ainsworth residents to raise chickens within Ainsworth City Limits. During the regular meeting of the Ainsworth City Council on October 12th, the Council voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 1551 regarding poultry; chickens; permit requirements and restrictions.
