Word has been received of the death of Donna L. Keim, age 90 of Ainsworth, NE. Donna Keim passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Brown County Report August 14 - 20, 2022 Sunday, August 14th Investigated a report of vandalism. This is an ongoing investigation.

Bulldog Pride Fundraiser Raised $20,000.00+ for the Bulldog Athletes

All new Championship and Runner-up banners have been purchased and hung on the west and east walls in Lila McAndrew Gymnasium. Since the 2007 C-1 Boys State Championship banner was replaced, the old one was put up for auction, bringing in $1,200.00 for the Ainsworth Booster Club.

Brown County Commissioners Vote to Place 1-Cent Levy Question on November Ballot

During the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners on August 16th, the commissioners voted to place a question on the November General Election ballot asking voters for a onecent property tax levy. The onecent tax levy would be used to support the operations of the Sandhills Care Center.

Elizabeth Salzman Residence Named Yard of the Week

Elizabeth Salzman, who lives at 335 N. Oak in Ainsworth, was named this week’s Yard of the Week. This quaint little house welcomes her guest with the hello sign by the front door and the chairs to sit down and have a chat. She has petunias in her buckets with some amaryllis and verbenia planted as well.

August 8, 2022 The Board of Education of School District #10 held a regular meeting, August 8, 2022. Board members present were Brad Wilkins, Jessica Pozehl, Frank Beel, Mark Johnson and Jim Arens. Members absent: Scott Erthum. Also present were Superintendent Dale Hafer, Principals Steve Dike, Ben Wright and AD Scott Steinhauser. There were several guests in attendance.
