Book Club at Ainsworth Library to Start Up for Another Year

A new season of Book Club is about to begin at the Ainsworth Public Library! The September selection title will be The Book Club by Mary Alice Monroe. This story features five remarkable women who are all in their 50’s and 60’s that belong to the same book club but from different walks of life.

BKR 4-H Conducts First Livestock Auction Following 4-H Youth Fair

A livestock auction was held for BKR 4-H youth on Friday, August 5th following the 4-H Youth Fair during the Rock County Fair. 4-H youth from Brown, Rock and Keya Paha counties either sold the animals they raised or received a premium from area businesses and other buyers if they planned to take their animals on to the Nebraska State Fair to show.

Ainsworth City Council Approved Ballot Language for Sandhills Care Center City Levy

Following over 90 minutes of discussion at the regular meeting of the Ainsworth City Council on August 10th for funding of the Sandhills Care Center, the council voted to approve a resolution to be placed on the November 8th General Election ballot allowing the City of Ainsworth to exceed its maximum levy by an additional 10 cents for a period of five years to support ongoing operations of the Sandhills Care Center and payback potential bonded indebtedness.

Sandhills Care Center Reports 20 Residents and Financially Stable for the Month of July

The Sandhills Care Center Interlocal Board - Tom Jones, Dr. Mel Campbell and Shawn Fernau, reviewed the July financials during their regular board meeting on August 8th. The financials showed an income of $307,924.51 and expenses in the amount of $205,124.88. This provided the Care Center with a profit in the amount of $102,799.63.
