ISU Announces Fall Semester 2023 Dean’s List

More than 10,800 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2023 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Ainsworth Speech Team Takes Second at Valentine Speech Meet

The Ainsworth High School speech team competed on Saturday, January 27th at the Valentine Icebreaker Speech Meet. This meet is traditionally the first competition of the season, but was postponed due to weather this year.

Reducing Radon Decreases Exposure to Lung Cancer

LINCOLN – More than 21,000 lung cancer deaths a year are from exposure to radon gas, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Nebraska is third in the nation with the potential for high radon levels behind Iowa and Pennsylvania.

Wayne State College 2023 Fall Dean’s List

Wayne State College included 1,312 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the Fall 2023 semester. Students listed on the dean’s list are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale for the semester. An asterisk (*) denotes a 4.0 GPA for the term.

Northeast Community College Announced President’s and Dean’s Lists

Northeast Community College in Norfolk has released the President’s Honor List and Dean’s Honor List for both full and part-time students for the Fall 2023 semester. To be named to the President’s Honor List, students must earn a grade point average of 4.0 and be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours.

606 Students Set to Perform at UNK’s Annual Honor Band and Choral Clinic

Students from 95 high schools in Nebraska participated in the annual Honor Band and Choral Clinic hosted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance. The January 29th event included 606 high school music students who worked with UNK faculty and guest instructors before performing two public concerts at UNK’s Health and Sports Center.

Brown County Hospital Board Terminates Home Health License Renewal

A regular meeting of the Brown County Hospital (BCH) Board of Trustees was held Monday, January 22, 2024. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tate Schipporeit, at 3:00 p.m. Other members in attendance were John Gross, Kirk Peterson, and Brian Delimont. Brent Deibler was excused. Also attending were Mirya Hallock - CEO, Tad Stearns - CFO, Lisa Fischer - HR, Tawny Allen - HR, Erica Hasenohr-AFC Manager and Robin Johannssen Recording Secretary. Doctor Wasmund attended.
