Tractor Relay Across Nebraska Coming to Ainsworth

An informational meeting was held recently with members of the Nebraska Antique Farming Association (NAFA), local media and the Ainsworth Chamber of Commerce to discuss the Tractor Relay Across Nebraska (TRAN) coming to the area during the summer of 2024.

Nebraska’s November 2023 Unemployment Rate is 2.3 Percent

Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for November 2023 is 2.3 percent, seasonally adjusted. The rate is up 0.1 percentage points from the October 2023 rate of 2.2 percent and is down 0.4 percentage points from the November 2022 rate of 2.7 percent.

Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage Programs Receive 2018 Farm Bill One Year Extension, Farmers Can Now Enroll for the 2024 Crop Year

Producers can elect coverage and enroll in ARC-County (ARCCO) or PLC, which provide cropby crop protection, or ARC-Individual (ARC-IC), which protects the entire farm. Although election changes for 2024 are optional, producers must enroll through a signed contract each year. Also, if a producer has a multi-year contract on the farm it will continue for 2024 unless an election change is made.

Multispecies Lottery Permit Applications Accepted Beginning January 2nd

Applications for multispecies Super Tag and Combo lottery permits will be accepted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission beginning January 2, 2024. The Super Tag lottery permit will be valid for one elk of either sex, one antelope of either sex, one deer of either sex and two turkeys (only toms and bearded hens may be taken in the spring).

Beel Named to CSC’s President’s List

Katrina Beel of Johnstown, NE was named on Chadron State College’s President’s List. To qualify, student must have a cumulative 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
