Samuel Wilkins Named Chancellor’s Scholar

Samuel Wilkins of Ainsworth is among 20 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students who will be recognized as Chancellor’s Scholars during the undergraduate commencement ceremony December 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Candidates Should Not Use Nebraska’s State Seal in Campaigns

Secretary of State Bob Evnen reminds candidates running for office and political consultants that the use of the state seal is prohibited for political and campaign purposes. Secretary Evnen, who is the keeper of the Great Seal of Nebraska, reminds candidates that the use of the seal is limited to state government and educational use.

Lions Club Donates to Ainsworth Food Pantry

Ainsworth Lions Club President Steve Dike (right) presented a check for $1,000.00 to Pastor L.W. Christensen (left) for the Ainsworth Food Pantry from the Ainsworth Lions Club. The Ainsworth Food Pantry is maintained by the Ainsworth Ministerial Alliance and provides people who are struggling to make ends meet or are in emergency situations and need food. The Ainsworth Food Pantry is open from 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. People needing help can call the Zion Lutheran Church or one of the ministers listed on the north door of the Lutheran Church. Call the Zion Lutheran Church at (402) 387-1512 to arrange a time to drop off your donation.

Susie’s Christmas Wish Gather Gifts for Area Families

Julie Mizner (left) and Randy Johnson of the Ainsworth Fire Department (right) were on duty Saturday, December 2nd in the Ainsworth Viaero parking lot to accept toys and other items. Susie’s Christmas Wish is an organization in honor of Susie Allen’s love for Christmas. The organization delivers Christmas to those having difficulties during and around the Christmas Season. Susie’s Christmas Wish Toy Pick-Up for Brown County parents is December 5th, 6th and 7th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Ainsworth Fire Hall.

Assembly of God Church Pastor Gary Graesser of the Assembly of God Church stated they will be having their main Christmas activity on Sunday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. Christmas program.
