Accident Report

Emergency personnel responded to a car/truck accident on October 22nd two miles west of Ainsworth on Highway 20. The Brown County Sheriff’s Department reported a 41-year-old male driver of a 1994 Ford Mustang was south bound on 429th Avenue and failed to stop at the intersection of 429th Avenue and Highway 20.

October 22 - 28, 2023 October 22nd The Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Brown County Ambulance Association and Brown County Rural Fire Department responded to an accident 1 and ½ miles west of Ainsworth. One individual was transported to the Brown County Hospital.

Mountain Lion Lottery Application Period is Nov. 6th – Dec. 13th

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept lottery applications for mountain lion permits November 6th – December 13, 2023, for the 2024 hunting season. Permits are available only to Nebraska residents, who may have one permit per calendar year.

Waterfowl Hunters: Do Your Part to Prevent Spread of Invasive Plants

Phragmites, a non-native, invasive, noxious plant, is spreading rapidly along rivers, streams, lakes and wetlands throughout the state. Officials at Nebraska Game and Parks are asking waterfowl hunters to help keep from making the problem worse.

Brown and Blaine Counties Receives Dividend Check

Brown County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $4,177.00, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association II (NIRMA II), the county’s workers’ compensation coverage and risk management services provider.
