Homecoming Candidates Selected for 2023 AHS Homecoming

2023 Homecoming football game is set for Friday, October 13th against Boyd County. Homecoming candidates are (Back Row - Left to Right): Carter Nelson - Fall Sports, Cole Bodeman - Fine Arts, Airyan Goochey - F Clubs; (Third Row): Kendyl Delimont - Fall Sports, Karli Kral - F Clubs; (Second Row): Trey Appelt - Senior Class, Taylor Allen - Fine Arts, Traegan McNally - A Club; (Front Row): Breanna Fernau - Senior Class and Katherine Kerrigan - A Club. Several activities were and will be held troughout Homecoming Week with Coronation being held following the Boyd County football game on Friday, October 13th. The Homecoming Parade will start at 2:20 p.m. on October 13th with a Pep Rally following in McAndrew Gym.

FDA and CDC Announce Updated COVID-19 Vaccines

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the approval of an updated COVID-19 vaccine on September 13, 2023. The FDA and CDC recommend this vaccine for anyone 6 months and older, no matter how many COVID- 19 vaccines you have received. Just like a flu shot that changes each year, the new COVID booster is updated to match the strain that is making people sick this fall. You can get the updated vaccine at least 2 months after your last COVID-19 shot.

Board of Education Adopts Option Enrollment Standards for 2024-25

The Ainsworth Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, October 9, 2023. Adopt Option Enrollment Standards for 2024-25 According to Hafer, the recent legislative session resulted in the addition of a legal requirement for school boards to adopt a 'resolution' and publish specific standards related to option enrollment.

It’s been a post-pandemic while since I have done so. I jumped at the chance to ride to Chadron with a friend with numerous stops along the way.

FFA Competes in State Range Judging

On September 27th, Ainsworth FFA members traveled to Beatrice to compete in State Range Judging. Results are as follows: Senior Division: Trey Appelt - 64th, Gracie Kinney - 86th, Aiden Jackman - 119th. Other team members were: Tyrin Daniels and Makenzy Cheatum. The team finished 24th. In the Junior Division: Kaden Evans - 115th, Kaitlyn Sease - 146th, Megan Jones - 190th. Other team members in the Junior Division were: Christina Fernau and Kinsey Walz. The team finished 38th. Participating were (Left to Right): Gracie Kinney, Trey Appelt, Aiden Jackman, Kaitlyn Sease, Kinsey Walz, Tyrin Daniels, Kaden Evans, Christina Fernau, Makenzy Cheatum and Megan Jones.
