2023 Nebraska State Fair Results

Ainsworth Board of Education Receives Board of Excellence Award

The Ainsworth Board of Education received the Nebraska Association of School Boards “Board of Excellence” award for the 2nd year in a row. The Board received their plaque on August 22nd while attending the area membership meeting in Valentine. To receive the award, all members of the Board of Education must be involved and committed to attending professional development activities throughout the year.

With New Knowledge Comes New Discoveries

My son is a Boy Scout. Hopefully, he will become an Eagle Scout like his dad, his grandpa, his uncle, and not to mention eleven of the twelve men that walked on the moon. Whether he does or not, it has been an honor seeing the program help him and other boys mature into responsible young men.

Highway 97 Closed to Through Traffic South of Merritt Reservoir

Highway 97 north of Mullen, or 24 miles south of Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area, is closed to through traffic, effective immediately, according to the Hooker County Sheriff’s Office. The Loup River Bridge is compromised, and the Nebraska Department of Transportation has advised only local cars and pickups without trailers cross the bridge at 25 mph or slower.
