Alvin A. Coleman, 97

Alvin A. Coleman passed away on October 10, 2016 at the age of 97. Born to Neal and Elizabeth Coleman in Valentine, NE. Al ran a grocery store in Nebraska and joined the US Army in 1940. Her served five years in World War II mainly in North Africa and Italy. In 1956 he and his family moved to Sacramento. Al worked for Safeway for a short time and then at McClellan Air Force Base for over 20 years, retiring in 1979. AL enjoyed fishing all of his life and was well known to the fisherman at Discovery Park. There are many pictures of Al holding his catch of 30-40 lb. salmon or striped bass from the Sacramento River. He won many prizes in the McClellan bass derbies. Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Alice O. Coleman, and children, Alice Morgan, Arleeta Krolikowski and Lee (Carolyn) Coleman. He is also survived by grandchildren, David Krolikowski (financee) Megan Felice), Tim (Kristi) Morgan, Michelle (Alex) Alvarado and Julie Coleman (Kyle Thompson) and great grandson, Jack Morgan. He is preceded in death by sister, Louise Henneman; brother, Lee James Coleman, grandson, Ryan Morgan and son-in-law, Ron Morgan. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Funeral Services were on Friday, October 14, 2015 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Sierra Hills Morouary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA.
