Fiebelkorn served aboard USS Hancock during Vietnam War

Boiler Technician Third Class (E-4) Don Fiebelkorn, of Gregory, served in the U.S. Navy from 1970- 1974 during the final years of the Vietnam War. Don came from a family that understood the military. He had four older brothers. Bill, Glenn and Ken were in the Army. All three of them served overseas in Germany. His oldest brother George took his draft physical, but wasn’t called up. Don was ready to enlist in 1970. He had attended elementary school in Gregory and high school in both Gregory and Burke and then he quit school before graduation.
