Corky Greenough was born December 10, 1933 to Edward and Harriet (Witt) Greenough in Ainsworth, NE. He passed away at Niobrara Com-munity Hospital in Lusk, WY on March 15, 2017 at the age of 83. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Niobrara County Shooting Sports Building in Lusk, WY. Corky attended school in Ainsworth, NE. On October 12, 1952 he married JoAnn Simons, and was blessed with two sons, Dale and Doug. They made their home in Cody, NE for 25 years. Corky was employed by Moormans Manufacturing and retired after 34 years. He and JoAnn built the South 40 Restaurant and Lounge in Chadron, NE and owned and operated the Westerner Motel in Chadron for four years. They retired to Lusk, WY to be close to family. Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Larry Greenough, and nephew Rocky Greenough. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; sons, Dale Greenough and Doug (Julie) Greenough; four grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Shirley) Greenough; sister, Betty (Don) Fernau; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Niobrara Senior Center or to the Niobrara Community Hospital long term care. Pier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
