Funeral services for Steven Johnson were held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Gregory with Pastor Royal Archer officiating.
Music was provided by the congregation, accompanied by Barb Durfee, pianist. Registration and flower attendants were Jeannette Sinkular and Brenda Syfie-Mundhenke.
Casket bearers were Michael Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Justin Johnson, Joshua Justin, Chris Vasquez and Lance Stoff. Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Steven Craig Johnson was born on July 4, 1952 in Rapid City to Walter and Jeannine Johnson.
In 1970, Steve graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, IA. After high school, he went on to earn two master’s degrees: one in General Engineering and the other Mining Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and much later, an Associates degree in Nuclear Medicine from Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls.
He passed away on January 27, 2019 in Centerville.
Steve is survived in life by his mother, Jeannine; his two brothers, Scott and Stuart; his three children, Michael, Emily, and Andrew; his granddaughter, Chloe; one niece and three nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter.
