Gorilla cross country runners compete at Scotland
The Gorilla Cross Country team traveled to Scotland for a rescheduled meet on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Six runners were able to compete and we had a perfect day to run with cooler temperatures and no wind.
Emma Thomas started the afternoon off with the girls’ varsity 5K race with 34 area runners competing. Once again, she took nearly a minute and a half off her time on this course a year ago. She brought home the 5th place medal in a time of 20:50.
The boy’s varsity team was able to compete for team points at this meet with three of our boys running. Luke Sinclair was our first runner in, placing 8th in the field of 35 runners, with a time of 19:39. Carson Klundt and Daniel Mitchell were just around a half-minute behind coming in at 11th and 12th re spectively. Klundt finished in 20:04, besting last years race on this course by 22 seconds and Mitchell finished in 20:08, logging one of his personal best 5K times.
