Gorilla tracksters run well at state
by Coach Kurt Stukel
The Gregory Gorillas competed in the 2019 State Track Meet in Sioux Falls on May 27th and 28th.
“Both the girls and boys team competed very well at the meet,” stated Coach Stukel.
Tommy Determan jumped the best jump of his season with a jump of 6’0”. This jump put Tommy in 6th place position on the podium.
Tommy had cleared the 5’08” and 5’10” heights on his first jump, which is a great confidence builder for the 6 foot jump. It took Tommy until his 3rd and final attempt at 6’0” and he got it.
The girls medley relay team ran well enough to place 4th with a time of 4:31.72. Relay runners included: Jessy Jo VanDerWerff, Brooklynn Kenzy, Megan Warnke and Emma Thomas.
