Storm wrestlers head to post-season on a high note
The Burke/Gregory Storm wrestlers had their final regular season match on Tuesday, February 9, with a dual in Gregory against Bennett County. Originally scheduled to be a triangular, with Stanley County as the third team, some COVID-19 exposures prevented Stanley County from attending.
The Storm came away with a 58-12 victory against Bennett County.
It started with the 170-pound weight class - this year which weight class goes first in duals and triangulars is determined by drawing out of a hat. This 170-pound match was the featured match of the evening with Tucker Even against Mason Heath. Heath is a wrestler who placed in the state tournament a year ago. He is currently ranked second in the weight class in the state. Tucker had defeated him in the Stanley County tournament at the beginning of the season, and this time made it a little more resounding with a 7-4 decision. Tucker had a very good match in that contest.
