Storm wrestlers start the new year with some tough competition
Last week’s wrestling activity included a dual with Parkston on Tuesday, January 5, and the Miller/Highmore/Harrold Invitational Tournament that was held on Saturday, January 9.
In the dual, this is the second time that we wrestled Parkston this year. We were able to defeat them earlier in the season by a score of 40-33 in December, but they turned the tables on us this time around and came back with a 45-34 victory.
In that contest we started out in the 182-pound weight class where Parkston jumped off to an early lead with Logan Heidinger winning a 9-6 decision over Jay Wright.
The Burke/Gregory team picked up the next two weight classes, 195 and 220 by forfeit. The 285 class was decided the same way, this time for Parkston as Lane Johnson picked up a forfeit there.
