VanDerWerff earns 1,000th point during the game against Lyman

Jessy Jo VanDerWerff, a sophomore at GHS, during the game at Lyman on January 7, 2021, scored 40 points to break the single game scoring record of 39, which was held by her. Also in the game, Jessy Jo scored her 1,000 career point. Gregory won the game 71-32.

VanDerWerff earns 1,000th point during the game against Lyman

On Thursday, Jan. 7, the Lady Gorillas traveled to Presho to take on the Lyman Raiders. Gregory raced off to an early first quarter lead of 8 to 2 in the opening minutes of the game.

The Lady Gorillas continued to extend its lead and held a fifteenpoint lead after the first quarter, 23 to 8.

In the second quarter, Gregory continued its strong scoring performance and was leading 43 to 17 at halftime. The Lady Gorillas lead was extended even more in the third and fourth quarter and went on to win the game by a score of 71 to 32.
