Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament results

Without a doubt, anyone who participates in the annual Chamber sponsored Cork Thornton Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament comes away as a winner.

So, you didn’t win the top prize, or the big fish award? Maybe you didn’t even catch enough fish for a meal. But the comradere, adventure of pre-fishing, Calcutta and finally the predawn start Saturday, January 26, 2019 made for a great time.

Rules were short and sweet - no fish left on the ice, state regulations were in place, and of course, no cheating.

Ice Marshals donated their time - several driving from as far as Kearney to help out the director and their friend, Jeff Ohlmann. This is his second year organizing the event, along with Jill Elliott Wheeler, and organization doesn’t happen in a day.
