A look back at 2017

Last week we left off at the end of May for our look back at 2017. Nice balmy May, and now we’re headed into June. For some of our community, this will be a reprieve in the weather they’ve been grappling with the last month.
 
Shall we Welcome....June...which remembers our fallen military on Memorial Day. The Cherry County Veterans Service Committee along with the VFW made the decision in early 2017 to include the names of our recent fallen to the Memorial in front of the Courthouse. Kerry Hoffman of Hoffman Monuments and Stoneworks included Dennis Morgan and Josiah Hollopeter under the heading of Global War on Terror. Veterans Service Officer Shawn Hamling said, “This is a fine tribute to our local fallen heroes of Cherry County who made the ultimate sacrifice for our many freedoms.”
