Public Hearing on CUP #01-16

Wednesday, December 7, 2016 was the Cherry County Commissioner’s Public Hearing on Conditional Use Permit #01-16 by BSH Kilgore, LLC.

This particular hearing had been postponed twice due to insufficient notification - a task that Cherry County Commissioner Mark Adamson took on personally.

Before the meeting began, several protesters from Preserve the Sandhills LLC were in front of the Cherry County Courthouse disapproving the idea of wind turbines in the Sandhills; filming their protest was KNOP-TV.

At 4:00 p.m. , nearly 100 people were in attendance at the Valentine High School Auditorium to share their testimony for Cherry County Commissioners Mark Adamson, and Tanya Storer. Jim Van Winkle was not present during roll-call and didn’t sit with the commissioners if he were present.
