Dr. Jamie Isom retired after 28 years with Valentine Schools. Jamie and her husband Steve and family moved to Valentine in 1991. Prior to joining Valentine Schools, Jamie taught in Osmond, Madrid, Hayes Center and Wallace all in Nebraska.

LINCOLN – At an afternoon press briefing, Governor Pete Ricketts announced the next steps in the State’s phased plan to loosen restrictions that have been in place during the coronavirus pandemic. The new directed health measures (DHMs), easing restrictions on businesses and activities, took effect June 22, 2020. Most counties in Nebraska (89 out of 93) will move to “Phase 3” of the reopening. Dakota, Hall, Hamilton, and Merrick counties will move to “Phase 2.”
Valentine, Nebraska – Come learn more about nature!! The Niobrara National Scenic River, along with the Niobrara Council, is offering opportunities for the public to participate in scientific research on Friday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. These will continue through July 31. They will take place at the Niobrara National Scenic River Visitor Center in Valentine. The address is 214 W. Highway 20. The topic for June 26, 2020 is Creek Critters.
Aubrey Lord was born April 7, 1922 in Crookston, NE, where his parents, Boise and Marcia Lord, operated a livery stable. Two years later, his parents purchased a ranch in the Simeon Community where Aub resided until his death, December 13, 2008.
North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) was made aware of four additional cases in the district. Two new cases reported for Holt County, one new case for Rock County, and one new case and one new recovery for Knox County.
