Ainsworth Star-Journal Welcomes Alumni Home

Those returning for the annual Ainsworth High School alumni weekend will notice a few changes to the Ainsworth Star-Journal. The Star-Journal changed hands March 1, 2025, after more than 40 years of being owned and operated by Rod and Kathy Worrell.

2016 Friday - Meet at Casey Jones' shop at 5 p.m., bring your own drinks. Will work on float then head to Elks for supper (it’s a free supper).

Legislative Notes

From Petition to Ballot: Understanding the Fairness for Girls Initiative As Nebraskans travel across the state this summer, many have likely encountered petition circulators gathering signatures for various proposed ballot measures for the November election. One of those efforts is the Fairness for Girls constitutional amendment initiative.

Resilient Nebraskans Always Say 'It Could Have Been Worse' Back in the day, reporters used to be able to hitch a ride with the governor or National Guard to the site of a disastrous tornado or flood. One of those trips involved a flight to Coleridge, in northeast Nebraska, after a tornado had destroyed two farm homes and damaged several residences on the north edge of the town.

UNL Announces Spring Deans' List

More than 6,200 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans' List for the spring semester of the 2025-26 academic year. Qualification for the Deans' List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.
