Allen “Boss Hog” W. Hansen, age 71, of Grand Island, NE, formerly of Ainsworth, NE, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

Allen’s wishes were for cremation and a celebration of life would be held at a later date in Ainsworth and will have a celebration of life on November 18th in Walnut, IA. (more details will come).

Allen was born June 23, 1952 in Harlan, IA to Donald and Luella (Madden) Hansen. He attended Walnut High School and then Kirland Community College for AG Business.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Trenkamp on November 17, 1973. Allen and Beverly would have been married 50 years on November 17, 2023.

Over the years Allen worked for many farmers and ranchers. He moved to Ainsworth in 1982 from Iowa to manage Ainsworth Pork Inc. He worked for GJW Hog Confinement doing numerous things until his retirement in 2018. He enjoyed being able to help people with his truck, trailer and equipment.

Allen liked to bowl in his younger years, he was an avid golfer, played baseball in his younger years and loved to watch baseball. He enjoyed watching football and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. After he retired, he mowed and helped with maintenance at the Ainsworth Golf Course. He took great pride in how it looked. He always was up for going out and visiting with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Hansen of Grand Island; children, Christopher (Marie) Hansen of Winner, SD, Wendy (Larry) Buhrman of Grand Island and Scott (Clara) Hansen of Freeburg, IL; grandchildren, Sierra, Skyler and Kash all of Winner, SD, Dhillon of Grand Island, Jacob of Roseland, Spencer (Bailey) of Omaha, Shelbie of San Diego, CA, Jillian and Mabrie of Freeburg, IL; brothers, Donnie (Loleta) of Walnut, IA, Daryl of Atlantic, IA and Rick (Cheryl) of Elkhart, KS; sister, Lori of Lemon Cove, CA; uncle, Merle Hansen of Brayton, IA and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in-law, Ray and Velma Trenkamp and uncles and aunts.
