Celebration of Life for Abigail Joy Petty

Abigail “Abby” Joy Petty, daughter of Doug and Jessica (Pierce) of Long Pine, NE was born January 12, 2009, in Vernal, UT. She passed away on January 2, 2024, at Children’s Nebraska in Omaha, NE as a result of a sudden illness. Abigail attended schools in La-Porte, TX, and Ainsworth, NE.

Abby participated in basketball, volleyball, track, wrestling, band, choir, FCCLA, Teammates, and Sing Around Nebraska. She loved art, singing, animals, and working with the kids at her church, Faith Christian Fellowship of Long Pine, NE. She enjoyed going to church camp, fishing, hunting, and target shooting with her dad and brothers. She loved to cook and take walks with her mom. She also enjoyed having makeovers and getting dolled up with her sister. Her love of and ability to work with animals earned her the title “Animal Whisperer”.

Abby decided to ask Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior at a young age and served Him all her life.

Abby is survived by her parents; brothers, Jonathan Petty of Long Pine, NE, and Nathan Petty and fiancé Nevaeh Bowie of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Gracie Petty of Broken Arrow, OK; grandparents, Stephen and Ginger Pierce of Vernal, UT, Terry and Linda Dudley of Long Pine, NE, and John and Teresa Petty of Red Oak, IA; plus numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.

Cremation has taken place and private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in the name of “The Petty Memorial Account” through Homestead Bank, PO Box 45, Ainsworth, NE 69210.
