Brown County Report

February 14-20, 2021 Sunday, February 14th

Arrested a subject for driving under the influence and booked them into the Brown County Jail.

The Brown County Ambulance Service transported an Ainsworth resident to the Brown County Hospital.

The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an Ainsworth resident from the Brown County Hospital to Kearney.

Released a subject from the Brown County Jail on bond.

Assisted a Brown County resident with a possible credit card scam. They were referred to the local law enforcement agency where they were traveling and the Attorney General’s Fraud and scam line.

Investigated a report of possible child abuse or neglect in Ainsworth.

Investigated a report of possible harassment involving personal property exchange. This is still an ongoing investigation.

Responded to a report of a possible gas leak at an Ainsworth business. The Ainsworth Fire Department and gas company identified and repaired the leak.

Monday, February 15th

While performing a traffic stop on Hwy. 183, a subject was cited for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Investigated a report of an abandoned vehicle west of Ainsworth. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was towed.

Responded to a business security alarm in Ainsworth. The key holder was contacted and building was secured.

Investigated a report of possible harassment regarding personal property exchange. Deputies are investigating.

Responded to a report of a possible protection order violation. This is an open investigation.

Responded to a security alarm at a business west of Ainsworth. Owner was contacted.

During a traffic stop on South Hwy. 7, Dutch the K9 Unit was activated. Two subjects were cited for possession of marijuana less than an ounce, possession of a controlled substance (THC) and drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday, February 16th

The Brown County Ambulance Association transported a Long Pine resident to the Brown County Hospital.

Received a report of finding a lost dog. The owner was located.

Investigated a report of a possible protection order violation. An arrest warrant was issued.

Provided traffic control for a cattle crossing Hwy. 20, west of Ainsworth.

Investigated a report of property damage by a vehicle north of Ainsworth.

Responded to a report of a hit and run in the alley behind an Ainsworth business.

Wednesday, February 17th

The Brown County Ambulance Association transferred a patient from the Brown County Hospital to Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk.

Provided assistance with a property exchange between two Ainsworth individuals.

Assisted an Ainsworth resident with a report of suspicious activity involving their pets. This is an ongoing investigation.

Executed a search warrant at an Ainsworth residence. Two subjects were arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail on possession of a controlled substance.

Investigated a report of possible stolen items being sold in Ainsworth.

Responded to information on suspicious activity involving an Ainsworth business.

Assisted another agency with a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Thursday, February 18th

The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an Ainsworth resident to the Brown County Hospital.

Responded to a report of hay improperly secured on a trailer.

Provided traffic control for 300 head of cattle crossing Hwy. 20 east of Ainsworth.

Investigated a report of a driver with a suspended license. Subject was not located.

Friday, February 19th

Investigated a parking complaint at a Main Street business.

Transported a subject to a court ordered evaluation in Norfolk.

Arrested and booked a subject into the Brown County Jail on a protection order violation. The subject was released on bond.

Provided traffic control for 380 head of cattle crossing Hwy. 20, east of Ainsworth.

Responded to a report of possible criminal mischief.

Released a subject from the Brown County Jail on bond.

Responded to reports of a vehicle without tail lights. Subject was located and the vehicle was found to have properly working tail lights.

Arrested a subject and booked them into the Brown County Jail for false reporting. The subject was released on bond.

Investigated a report of a domestic disturbance in Long Pine.

Saturday, February 20th

Provided a security check at an Ainsworth business.

Responded to a report of unsupervised juveniles at the Community Center. Verbal warnings were issued.

Assisted an Ainsworth resident with a report of possible threats.

Responded to a report of a dead deer impeding traffic on Hwy. 20, west of the Long Pine turn off. The animal was removed.

Investigated a report of possible stalking in Brown County. This is an ongoing investigation.

Assisted an Ainsworth resident with a report of suspicious activity involving their pets. A subject was interviewed and a verbal warning was issued.
