Brown County Assessor Terri Van Houten is asking Brown County taxpayers to contact the Assessor’s Office in regards to “water issues” related to the 2019 flooding.
If you still have land under water from 2019, contact the Brown County Assessor’s Office by May 31st to document this property to get a reduction in taxes.
After May 31st until July 15th, contact the Brown County Clerk to file paperwork before documenting the damage with the Assessor’s Office.
Damage to the land must exceed 20% of the current assessed value as defined in the Form 425 instructions.
