Through the month of January, the Ainsworth Star-Journal will be highlighting stories from each month of the year 2025. Bob Buckles Memorial Cruise Night Saw Big Turnout The Ainsworth Commercial Club along with the Ainsworth Chamber of Commerce and many other individuals, businesses, and organizations came together to hold the Bob Buckles Memorial Cruise Night on July 4.

Our feet support us all day, but often get overlooked until they start hurting. When every step hurts, it becomes clear how important our feet are.

January 11th A deputy contacted a vehicle parked on the side of Highway 20. Deputy reported everything appeared to be ok.

When it comes to finding our place in this world, let’s consider two categories. The first one, let’s call “floating down the river.” Imagine someone napping in a small boat without a compass or a paddle and not caring about where they are going. Having a spectator mentality, they have yet to understand the importance of having an intentional direction and instead settle for just hoping for the best. They are comfortable with what they do not know, and believe that everything will somehow be alright. Our second way of thinking involves listening and developing an awareness of our personal accountability to ourselves, those around us, and, of course, God, the one who made us. Until we embrace the reality that He has a specific meaning and purpose for our lives, we will not fulfill our potential.

Bike Walk Nebraska is working in collaboration with Nebraska Game and Parks to support the generation of trailhead signs along the Cowboy Trail for each community. Investing in the Trailhead Trailheads serve as a gateway into communities.

A Saturday morning fire north of Ainsworth prompted the response of the Ainsworth Volunteer Fire Department. According to Ainsworth Fire Chief Brad Fiala, at approximately 5:30 a.m.

The Ainsworth City Council met for its first regularly schedu led meeting of 2026 on Wednesday, January 14. Members present were Dustin Barthel, Brad Fiala, Kent Taylor, and Heather Lutter.
